House Committee to Hold Follow-Up Hearing on Payment Policies for Intellectual Disability Community
WHAT: The House Human Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), will hold a public hearing to learn more about the impact on individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families who have been affected by the changes in the funding and payment policies of the Department of Public Welfare’s (DPW) Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). This hearing is a follow-up to a December 2011 hearing and will focus on four specific payment policies recently adopted by ODP that are critical to the funding and stability of the service system: residential rates for room and board; fee schedule rates; occupancy factor in setting residential rates; and policy changes.

WHO: DiGirolamo and members of the House Human Services Committee. Organizations expected to offer testimony will include DPW, Disability Rights Network, Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities, Pennsylvania Community Providers Association and the Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.
