House Committee to Hold Informational Meeting on Issues and Services for Adults with Autism
WHAT: The House Human Services Committee, led by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), will hold an informational meeting on issues and services for adults with autism. Among the topics to be discussed will be innovative models, complex cases, census data, outcomes for adults with autism, Adult Community Autism Program, the Autism Waiver Program, separate delivery systems for services, and the next steps to be taken.

WHO: DiGirolamo; Rep. Angel Cruz (D-Philadelphia), Democrat chairman; and members of the Human Services Committee. Those expected to offer insight at the meeting will include Nina Wall, director, Bureau of Autism Services, Department of Public Welfare; James Connell, clinical director, Eastern ASERT, Drexel University; Lindsay Lawer Shea, director, Eastern ASERT, Drexel University; Paul Shattuck, professor, Drexel University; Joe Bohenick, who is on the spectrum, and his mother, Diane Bohenick; Tara Colleen Macatee, executive director, Kaleidoscope Family Solutions Inc.; Tom and Linda Casey, parents; David Gates, PA Health Law Project; and Dennis O’Brien, Philadelphia City Council.
