Human Services Committee to Consider Bill to Study Adult Autism Services
WHAT: The House Human Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), will hold a voting meeting to consider two resolutions and one bill, including: House Resolution 948, sponsored by Rep. Dan Miller (D-Allegheny), which requests that the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee conduct a comprehensive review of data maintained by the Department of Education and the Department of Public Welfare on the number of transition-age youth; House Bill 2479, sponsored by Rep. Jerry Stern (R-Blair), which adds Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) to the list of disorders for screening and follow up by the Department of Health’s Newborn Screening and Follow-Up Program; House Resolution 1018, sponsored by Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Philadelphia/ Montgomery), which directs the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a comprehensive study and make a report on the impact of the 10 percent reduction in funding for county-managed community mental health services implemented during fiscal year 2013 on the availability of mental health treatment and services.
