Human Services Committee to Learn More about Mental Health Courts

WHAT: The House Human Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), will learn more about the impact of mental health courts. Specifically, the committee will explore the following topics: history of behavioral health court and the perspectives of the court, the consumer and the provider.

WHO: DiGirolamo and members of the committee. Those expected to offer testimony will include: Marie Kearns, Moving Agencies Toward Excellence (MAX) and Horizon House; Pam Howard, adult mental health program director, Montgomery County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities; Stephanie Landes, coordinator, Behavioral Health Court, Montgomery County Adult Probation Department; and Maureen Feeney-Byrnes and Robert Martin, peer support specialists, Montgomery County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to noon.

WHERE: 60 East Wing, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg.
